Fencing Starts on Lake Ohinewai Project
In September, Broughton Contractors mulched weeds (mainly woolly nightshade and gorse) in preparation for fencing at our Lake Ohinewai project,
Then last week, Barakat Contractors started constructing the new fence around this locally significant wetland.
Weed control actions are well advanced around the two wetland cells and with this perfect weather it has provided Barakat’s with the opportunity to start ramming posts, which will support a new five wire electric fence. By Christmas, the lake will be surrounded by approximately 1,267 meters of fencing!
This project is co-funded by the Waikato River Authority and the Waikato District Council.
